The political row surrounding the alleged POCSO case involving Bhagirath, son of Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar , intensified on Wednesday after K. Kavitha demanded the immediate issuance of a Look-Out Circular (LOC) against him. The Telangana Rakshana Sena chief said strict measures were necessary to ensure transparency in the investigation and maintain public trust in the legal process.

Addressing the media in Hyderabad, Kavitha accused the BJP of shielding people facing serious allegations and alleged that several accused individuals in the past had managed to leave the country. She said authorities must ensure Bhagirath does not flee while the investigation is underway. Referring to the counter-cases filed against the complainant and her parents, Kavitha said the truth would ultimately emerge through the court process.

The controversy has become a major political flashpoint in Telangana, drawing reactions from multiple parties. Kavitha also expressed anger over the circulation of photographs linked to the minor victim on social media and demanded the immediate arrest of those responsible for leaking the images. She stressed that cases involving minors require the highest levels of sensitivity and confidentiality.

She further criticized Bandi Sanjay for appearing on public platforms alongside senior leaders despite the allegations against his son, claiming it sends a “wrong message” to society.

Alongside the attack on the BJP, Kavitha targeted both the Central and Telangana governments, claiming the state was witnessing a growing political vacuum despite being formed on the promises of “water, funds and jobs.” She said the newly formed Telangana Rakshana Sena was created to fill that gap with a focus on women’s safety , irrigation rights and social justice.

Targeting Chief Minister Revanth Reddy , she accused the state government of failing to secure national status for the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Project . Drawing comparisons with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and his efforts for the Polavaram project, she urged the Telangana government to push harder for irrigation clearances and funding.

Kavitha also demanded caste and socio-economic data collection in the ongoing census and reiterated support for 50 percent reservations for BC communities in education, employment and politics. Referring to the recent NEET paper leak controversy , she accused the Centre of failing to protect students’ futures.

She announced that Telangana Rakshana Sena would organise a month-long statewide outreach programme titled “Jenda Panduga” from May 20 to June 20 as part of its organisational expansion plans.
