Poco F8 Ultra Set for Global Debut With 6,500mAh Battery and Elite Gen 5 Chip
The Poco F8 Ultra is being prepared for its global debut on November 26, with new leaks and official confirmations revealing key specifications of the upcoming flagship device. The phone is expected to be introduced alongside the Poco F8 Pro and is believed to be a rebranded version of the Redmi K90 Pro Max, which was launched in China in October.
The battery capacities of both models were confirmed by the company through a post on X. It was stated that the Poco F8 Ultra will be equipped with a 6,500mAh battery, while the Poco F8 Pro will carry a 6,210mAh unit. The launch event is scheduled to be held in Bali, Indonesia, at 4pm local time (1:30pm IST).
Design renders of the F8 Ultra were also leaked by tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore, showing a flat display, a rectangular rear camera module and a “Sound by Bose” badge. The phone is expected to be offered in black and denim finishes and is likely to resemble the Redmi K90 Pro Max aside from Poco branding. A metal middle frame and an IP69-rated water- and dust-resistant build have also been tipped.
The Poco F8 Ultra has already been confirmed to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. The handset is expected to feature LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.1 storage and Android 16-based HyperOS 3 out of the box. Support for 100W wired and 50W wireless fast charging is also likely, based on early leaks.
A triple-camera setup is expected at the back, with a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS, a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, and a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera. A 32-megapixel selfie camera is likely to be placed at the front. An in-display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner is also expected to be included.
A 6.9-inch LTPS AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 2,608×1,200 pixels has been tipped. The device is expected to measure 163.3×77.8×8.05mm and weigh around 220g. The screen-to-body ratio for the Poco F8 Ultra has not been officially confirmed by Poco yet. However, based on the Redmi K90 Pro Max, which the F8 Ultra is expected to be a rebranded version of, the screen-to-body ratio is likely around 90.6%.
Public Benefits Highlighted
Several upgrades are expected to offer direct advantages to consumers. A larger 6,500mAh battery is set to provide longer usage, while 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging are likely to reduce charging time significantly. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset is expected to deliver improved performance for gaming, multitasking and AI-based features. The Poco F8 Ultra is expected to leverage AI-powered features as part of its HyperOS 3 operating system based on Android 16. While the company has not confirmed a dedicated AI assistant, the handset is likely to support Google Assistant natively. AI is expected to enhance the overall user experience through camera improvements such as scene detection, low-light optimization, and portrait enhancements, as well as system-level optimizations including adaptive refresh rate, app resource management, and intelligent battery usage. These features aim to make the phone more responsive, efficient, and convenient for daily tasks. The Bose-tuned speakers may enhance audio quality, while the IP69 rating is expected to improve durability. The triple 50-megapixel camera system is also poised to improve photography quality across zoom, low-light and wide-angle scenarios.
Battery vs. High Refresh Rate
The Poco F8 Ultra is expected to feature a 6.9-inch LTPS AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. While this enables smooth scrolling, gaming, and overall UI responsiveness, running the screen at a high refresh rate can consume more power. Many flagship phones with similar 120Hz displays carry larger 7,000mAh or higher batteries to offset this increased energy demand. With a 6,500mAh battery, Poco F8 Ultra users may need to balance refresh rate settings with battery longevity to get the most out of a full day’s usage.
Expected Pricing
The company has not announced pricing for global markets. However, based on the pricing of the Redmi K90 Pro Max and Poco’s previous global flagship positioning, the Poco F8 Ultra is expected to be priced between $650 and $800 internationally. If launched in India, the model is expected to be introduced around ₹54,999 to ₹62,999, depending on the RAM and storage variant.
The company is expected to reveal full specifications and pricing details during the November 26 launch event.
