Narendra Modi is set to launch and lay the foundation for development projects worth nearly ₹7,823 crore during his visit to Telangana on the 10th of this month, signalling a fresh push to infrastructure and industrial growth in the state.

State BJP president N. Ramchander Rao announced the details at a media interaction in Medak district, where he was joined by MP Raghunandan Rao. He said the Prime Minister’s visit reflects the Centre’s continued focus on accelerating Telangana’s development.

Key projects include the foundation stone for an industrial city in Zaheerabad and the PM MITRA textile park in Warangal. The Prime Minister is also expected to inaugurate railway stations at Hafeezpet and Jogulamba Gadwal, along with several national highway projects aimed at improving connectivity.

Criticism of State Government

Raising concerns over governance, Ramchander Rao alleged that government employees in the state are facing persistent challenges, including delays in salary payments , pending pay revision arrears since 2015, and late disbursal of retirement benefits. He claimed that the government acted on clearing dues only after intervention by the Telangana High Court, which, he said, points to administrative shortcomings.

He also urged the state government to take a clear decision on RTC employees , demanding that the promised merger into government service be implemented. He further stated that the lack of clarity on the implementation of the six electoral guarantees has led to growing public dissatisfaction.

Farmers’ Issues Highlighted

Highlighting agrarian concerns, Rao said that during his visits to procurement centres , he observed large quantities of paddy lying uncollected, leaving crops vulnerable to damage due to rains. He alleged that delays in grain lifting were caused by shortages of transport vehicles.

He further claimed that collusion among millers, intermediaries and officials is forcing farmers to sell produce below the Minimum Support Price . Calling the situation unfair, he urged the government to ensure procurement of both paddy and maize at MSP and provide immediate relief to affected farmers.
