PM Modi’s Telangana Visit on May 10: ₹7,800 Cr Projects, Massive Rally Planned

Telangana is gearing up for a high-profile visit by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 10, with the state administration initiating extensive preparations to ensure a smooth and impactful tour. The visit is expected to combine major infrastructure announcements with a significant political outreach , drawing attention across both governance and electoral spheres.

In a key review meeting held at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat, Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao directed officials to adopt a “zero-error approach” , stressing seamless coordination among departments. Senior bureaucrats and top police officials participated in the meeting, focusing on security protocols, logistics, and inter-departmental synchronization .

During his visit, the Prime Minister is expected to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for projects worth nearly ₹7,800 crore , covering sectors such as railways and national highways . These initiatives are aimed at boosting regional connectivity and strengthening the Centre’s development push in Telangana . A major highlight will be a large public meeting at the Parade Grounds, where Modi is set to address a sizeable gathering. The event is also being seen as a strategic political engagement , particularly targeting urban voters, women, and youth ahead of upcoming local body elections.

Authorities are implementing stringent security measures in line with Prime Ministerial protocols. The police have been tasked with ensuring multi-layered security , maintaining law and order , and managing traffic movement along key routes. Special attention is being given to route sanitization for the Prime Minister’s convoy.

Logistical arrangements are also being strengthened. Fire safety units are being deployed at Begumpet Airport, helipads, and public venues, while the health department is ensuring emergency medical readiness . Civic bodies, including GHMC and the Roads & Buildings department, are carrying out road inspections and repairs on a war footing . Officials have also been instructed to maintain uninterrupted power supply throughout the visit.

Senior officials, including DGP C.V. Anand, were part of the review, underlining the focus on flawless execution . With development initiatives and political messaging set to converge, the visit is expected to have far-reaching implications for Telangana.
