PM Modi visits Delhi blast victims, vows Justice as NIA probes Jaish-e-Mohammad link

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday visited LNJP Hospital to meet the victims of the devastating blast near Red Fort Metro Station that killed thirteen people and injured several others. Expressing deep sorrow, he prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured and assured that those behind the attack would be brought to justice.

Returning from a two-day visit to Bhutan, PM Modi went directly to the hospital, personally interacting with the injured and enquiring about their health. Senior officials and doctors briefed him on the condition of the victims and the medical care being provided. Earlier, during his Bhutan visit, he described the incident as “deeply saddening” and emphasized that investigative agencies would uncover the full details of the conspiracy, assuring that the perpetrators would not be spared.

The blast, which occurred on Monday evening in a Hyundai i20 near Red Fort Metro Station, left eight dead and many injured. Initial post-mortem reports revealed severe trauma, including broken bones and head injuries. Deaths were primarily caused by deep wounds and excessive bleeding. Forensic experts noted cross-injury patterns, suggesting that victims were thrown against walls or the ground by the force of the explosion. Most injuries were concentrated on the upper body, head, and chest. No splinter traces were found on the bodies or clothing, and the exact type of explosive is still being determined through laboratory analysis.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has constituted a dedicated and comprehensive team to investigate the incident. The probe is focused on identifying the explosive type, tracing the source, and uncovering the network behind the attack. Early findings indicate the involvement of a Jaish-e-Mohammad module, unearthed by Indian intelligence agencies. Investigators are also examining surveillance footage, eyewitness accounts, and digital evidence to link suspects to the crime.

PM Modi’s visit and statements underline the government’s commitment to both immediate humanitarian support for victims and a rigorous legal pursuit of justice. Forensic and investigative teams continue their work to ensure that all those responsible for the attack are held accountable under relevant Indian laws, including the IPC and the UAPA.
