PM Modi Urges Constructive Monsoon Session, Says India Stayed Resilient Despite West Asia Crisis

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday expressed hope that both the Monsoon Session of Parliament and the country's seasonal monsoon would prove productive, urging lawmakers across party lines to participate in the proceedings with sincerity and commitment.

Speaking to journalists shortly before the session commenced, the Prime Minister appealed to all Members of Parliament to contribute constructively to debates and legislative business, emphasizing that Parliament remains the most important platform for discussing issues affecting the nation. He said meaningful participation by elected representatives would strengthen democratic institutions and help advance the country's development agenda.

Drawing a parallel between the rainy season and the parliamentary session, Modi said he hoped both would deliver positive outcomes for the country. He stressed that cooperation among lawmakers was essential for addressing national priorities and fulfilling the aspirations of citizens.

Highlighting global challenges, the Prime Minister said the West Asia conflict had created significant difficulties for India, particularly because the country depends heavily on imported energy. Despite these external pressures, he noted that India's economy remained resilient and recorded 7.7 per cent growth, reflecting the strength of its economic fundamentals and policy framework.

The Prime Minister also credited the government's reform initiatives for encouraging innovation and confidence among young Indians. According to him, sustained policy reforms have inspired the youth to think boldly, pursue new opportunities, and contribute to the nation's progress across diverse sectors.

Pointing to recent achievements, Modi said India had crossed several important milestones over the past month, particularly in the space sector, underscoring the country's growing technological capabilities and expanding global profile. He said these accomplishments reflected the collective efforts of scientists, innovators, entrepreneurs, and citizens committed to building a stronger India.

As the Monsoon Session gets underway, the government's appeal for constructive discussions comes amid expectations of intense debates on key national issues, proposed legislation, and matters of public interest expected to dominate the parliamentary agenda in the coming weeks.
