PM Modi to visit Puttaparthi today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Andhra Pradesh today to participate in the 150th birth centenary celebrations of Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba at Puttaparthi the central and most significant part of his two-state tour. The Prime Minister will later travel to Tamil Nadu for the South India Natural Farming Summit in Coimbatore, but his day begins with a deeply symbolic and spiritually meaningful engagement in Puttaparthi.

Ahead of his visit, the Prime Minister expressed his heartfelt sentiments on X, saying he was looking forward to being “among my sisters and brothers of Andhra Pradesh” for the centenary celebrations. Calling Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s life a “guiding light for generations,” PM Modi recalled his several past interactions with the spiritual leader and shared photographs from those meetings, underscoring his personal reverence for Baba and the enduring inspiration he draws from him.

The Prime Minister will arrive at Puttaparthi around 10 a.m. and visit the holy Mahasamadhi of Sri Sathya Sai Baba to offer his respects. At 10:30 a.m., he will join the grand centenary celebrations, marking a milestone moment in the year-long programme commemorating 150 years of the saint’s birth anniversary cycle. On the occasion, PM Modi will release a commemorative coin and a set of postage stamps honouring Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s life, teachings, and his vast contributions to community service, education, healthcare, and spiritual upliftment. He will also address devotees and participants attending the ceremony from across the country.

Following the completion of the Puttaparthi programme, the Prime Minister will proceed to Coimbatore, where he will inaugurate the South India Natural Farming Summit 2025 at 1:30 p.m. During the event, he will release the 21st installment of PM-KISAN funds, amounting to more than ₹18,000 crore, benefiting nearly nine crore farmers across India.

Organised by the Tamil Nadu Natural Farming Stakeholders Forum from November 19 to 21, the summit aims to accelerate India’s transition toward natural, chemical-free, and climate-resilient agricultural practices. More than 50,000 farmers, natural farming practitioners, agriculture scientists, and stakeholders from Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, Telangana, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh are expected to participate.

While the Coimbatore summit underscores the government’s focus on sustainability and farmer welfare, today’s schedule is anchored primarily in the Prime Minister’s homage to Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba a visit marked by sentiment, respect, and the celebration of a spiritual legacy that has shaped millions of lives across the world.
