PM Modi to inaugurate India Mobile Congress in Delhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 9th edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2025, Asia's largest telecom, media, and technology event, on October 8, 2025, at around 9:45 AM at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi.

Organised jointly by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), IMC 2025 will run from October 8 to 11 under the theme "Innovate to Transform," highlighting India's focus on leveraging innovation for digital transformation and societal progress.

The event will showcase the latest advancements in telecom and emerging technologies, bringing together global leaders, policymakers, industry experts, and innovators. Key themes will include Optical Communications, Semiconductors in Telecom, Quantum Communications, 6G, and Fraud Risk Indicators, reflecting India's strategic priorities in next-generation connectivity, digital sovereignty, cyber fraud prevention, and global technology leadership.

IMC 2025 is expected to attract over 1.5 lakh visitors from more than 150 countries, alongside 7,000+ global delegates and participation from over 400 companies. The event will feature more than 1,600 new use-cases across areas such as 5G/6G, artificial intelligence, smart mobility, cybersecurity, quantum computing, and green technology, presented through over 100 sessions and 800 speakers.

International collaboration will be a key highlight, with delegations from Japan, Canada, the United Kingdom, Russia, Ireland, and Austria participating in the event.

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia noted that India’s satellite communications (SATCOM) sector is set for rapid growth, with regulatory frameworks being established and licensing processes underway. Three SATCOM licenses have already been issued, and the market is expected to double in size over the next few years, he added.

IMC 2025 aims to strengthen India’s position as a global technology leader while providing a platform for innovation, collaboration, and the development of next-generation digital infrastructure.
