PM Modi condoles death of Vedanta chairman Anil Agarwal’s son Agnivesh Agarwal

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday condoled the passing of Shri Agnivesh Agarwal, expressing deep sorrow over the loss and offering prayers for strength to the bereaved family. Responding to a post by Vedanta Group Chairman Anil Agarwal on social media platform X, the Prime Minister said the untimely demise was “deeply shocking and saddening” and noted that the depth of grief was evident in the tribute shared by the industrialist. He prayed that the family finds courage in this difficult time and concluded his message with “Om Shanti.”

Shri Agnivesh Agarwal, the eldest son of Anil Agarwal , passed away at the age of 49 while undergoing treatment in New York. According to family sources, he suffered a cardiac arrest following complications from a skiing accident. His sudden death has triggered an outpouring of condolences from political leaders, business figures and members of the public.

Agnivesh Agarwal was associated with the Vedanta Group and had held several leadership roles within the conglomerate. He was also involved in global business ventures and was known for his interest in sports, music and entrepreneurship. Educated at Mayo College in Ajmer, he was regarded by those close to him as a private individual with a strong sense of discipline and humility.

His passing marks a personal tragedy for the Agarwal family and a significant loss for the Indian business community, with many remembering him not only for his professional contributions but also for his personal warmth and character.
