A new full-dome 3D digital film, “One Step Beyond: A Journey to Mars,” has been unveiled at Science City, offering visitors an immersive look at humanity’s quest to reach the Red Planet. The 25-minute production was inaugurated by Goutam Chattopadhyay , a senior scientist from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory at the California Institute of Technology.

The film traces the story of space exploration from the first Moon landing to future missions aimed at Mars. Through sweeping visuals and engaging narration, it depicts rocket launches, the realities of living in space, and emerging technologies that could enable long-duration human missions. It also highlights ongoing efforts under NASA’s Artemis programme and the scientific search for life beyond Earth.

Screened inside Science City’s advanced full-dome theatre, the presentation uses multiple high-resolution projectors to create a seamless 360-degree viewing experience on a vast tilted dome. Rendered in ultra-high definition, the visuals give audiences the sensation of travelling through space alongside astronauts.

Originally premiered internationally in 2025, the film will now be shown daily in multiple languages, aiming to inspire curiosity about science and the future of human exploration beyond Earth.
