Picture abhi baaki hai: Raghav Chadha releases video response to AAP criticism

In a sharp rebuttal to criticism from his own party, Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha on Sunday released a video titled “Picture abhi baaki hai” to defend his record on raising Punjab‑related issues in Parliament and to counter what he described as a coordinated and politically motivated campaign against him. The video, shared on social media platform X, is a compilation of Chadha’s speeches in the Upper House on various state concerns and key matters affecting Punjabis.

In the post accompanying the video, Chadha said, “To my colleagues in AAP who were forced to issue videos saying that ‘Raghav Chadha failed to raise Punjab’s issues in Parliament’, here is a small trailer… Picture abhi baaki hai. ” He stressed, “Punjab isn’t a talking point for me. It is my home, my duty, my soil, my soul.”

Chadha highlighted that he had raised a range of issues in the Rajya Sabha. including advocating for a Nankana Sahib corridor to facilitate pilgrim access between India and Pakistan, calling for legal guarantees for Minimum Support Price (MSP) for farmers, speaking about declining groundwater levels and water crisis , and urging recognition for Shaheed‐e‑Azam Bhagat Singh with a Bharat Ratna.

The MP also pushed back against claims that he focused on so‑called “soft PR” matters at the expense of serious political debate. He denied allegations that he avoided criticizing the Government of India or Prime Minister Narendra Modi , calling such assertions “false and baseless” and part of a “scripted” and “coordinated attack” by some party leaders. Chadha asserted that he has always raised the issues of the people - not to create chaos but to deliver results .

The latest video appears to be the third response in a series following his removal as AAP’s Deputy Leader in the Rajya Sabha , a move that triggered intense public speculation about internal discord within the party. Chadha has described himself as “silenced, not defeated” and, in other posts, likened his position to being “wounded but dangerous” with the phrase “ghayal hoon isliye ghatak hoon.”

The dispute has opened up a public rift within AAP , with senior party members questioning Chadha’s approach to parliamentary interventions and his perceived reluctance to speak out robustly against the central ruling party. The exchange underscores widening tensions in the party’s Punjab wing and reflects differing views on strategy and political priorities.
