Phule’s Ideals Inspire Government: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy

Birth anniversary celebrations of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule , a great social reformer and crusader against caste discrimination, were held across Telangana with great fervour. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy , Union Ministers, and several political leaders paid rich tributes to Phule.

Currently on a Delhi visit , Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy paid homage by garlanding Phule’s portrait at his residence. He stated on the ‘X’ platform that the ideals of social justice and equal opportunities for all , championed by Phule, continue to inspire his government.

Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy , along with BJP workers, offered floral tributes at Phule’s statue in Amberpet. Another Union Minister, Bandi Sanjay Kumar , praised Phule’s fight against child marriage and caste discrimination . However, he expressed concern that the state’s literacy rate remains below the national average , and criticised the Congress government, stating that its governance is contrary to Phule’s ideals.

Born on April 11, 1827 , in Katgun village of Satara district in Maharashtra , Jyotirao Phule dedicated his life to the education and empowerment of marginalised communities . Leaders recalled that his struggle continues to serve as a guiding force for society even today.
