Perni Nani Accuses Lokesh of Plotting to Weaken Vijaya Dairy

YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) Krishna district president and former minister Perni Nani has accused Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and his son Nara Lokesh of allegedly conspiring to weaken the financially sound Vijaya Dairy and expand the business interests of Heritage Dairy.

Speaking to reporters in Machilipatnam on Saturday, Nani questioned why the state government was intervening in the affairs of Vijaya Dairy. He argued that the dairy operates under the Mutually Aided Cooperative Societies (MACS) Act and is not a government-nominated organisation.

According to Nani, Vijaya Dairy is a farmers' cooperative in which representatives are elected by the members. He alleged that the government and its ministers therefore had no authority to interfere in its internal administration.

Nani alleged that dairy chairman Chalasani Anjaneyulu was pressured to resign after ministers Parthasarathi and Kollu Ravindra allegedly acted on Lokesh's instructions. He claimed the ministers threatened Anjaneyulu within an hour of his election as chairman.

The YSRCP leader further alleged that Anjaneyulu, his daughter and his son, who is based in the United States, were threatened with imprisonment. Nani claimed the pressure became so intense that Anjaneyulu suffered a heart attack and was admitted to an ICU.

Despite his medical condition, the ministers allegedly visited him at the hospital and pressured him into submitting his resignation, Nani claimed.

The former minister said the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government did not interfere in dairy affairs during its five-year tenure, and accused the present administration of targeting a farmers' institution.

Nani warned that the YSRCP would not remain silent if Vijaya Dairy was allegedly pushed into financial difficulties to benefit Heritage Dairy. He also cautioned that if YS Jagan Mohan Reddy returns to power, those responsible for allegedly undermining farmers' cooperative institutions would face legal action, including imprisonment.
