People already going crazy for PSPK’s OG release
Powerstar Pawan Kalyan’s highly anticipated film OG is set to hit theaters on September 25, 2025, and the buzz surrounding it is nothing short of electric. Directed by Sujeeth of Run Raja Run and Saaho fame, and produced by DVV Danayya under DVV Entertainment, the film has already generated massive hype even before its release.
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has cleared OG with a U/A certificate. In a special move, the Andhra Pradesh government has granted permission for benefit shows and a temporary hike in ticket prices. The first benefit show, scheduled at 1 a.m. on release day, will be priced at ₹1000 (including GST). For the following 10 days, ticket rates can be raised to ₹125 in single screens and ₹150 in multiplexes.
While this decision has been welcomed by fans, it has also triggered criticism on social media and from opposition leaders, who argue that such high ticket prices are unfair to ordinary audiences. Comparisons have been drawn to the struggles of farmers who receive meager returns for their crops, fueling heated political and public debate.
Meanwhile, the film’s promotions are in full swing. The makers recently unveiled a striking poster introducing veteran actor Prakash Raj as Satya Dada , a powerful character who plays a key role in the story. This reveal has added to the anticipation, with fans praising his intense look.
Touted as a gangster action thriller, OG presents Pawan Kalyan in a never-before-seen avatar as Ojas Gambhir, a ruthless mob boss. The film also stars Priyanka Mohan as the female lead, Emraan Hashmi as the antagonist, along with key roles played by Shriya Reddy and Arjun Das.
Adding to the frenzy, DVV Entertainment has confirmed that the film’s trailer will be released on September 21, after fans stormed social media with requests. In overseas markets, particularly North America, advance bookings have already crossed $1.725 million across 460 locations, signaling record-breaking momentum for the multilingual release.
With sky-high expectations, fiery debates, and unprecedented ticket demand, OG is gearing up for one of the biggest openings ever for a Telugu film.
