Pensions for the ineligible during the YSRCP regime: MLA D Venkateswara Prasad

Anantapur Urban MLA Daggupati Venkateswara Prasad stated that pension distributions worth ₹22.75 crore are currently being carried out in the Anantapur Urban constituency. He said that by 9 a.m., 55% of the pensions had already been distributed. Highlighting speed, sincerity, and transparency, he added, “When these three come together, it is like Chief Minister Chandrababu.”

The MLA noted that although there was a volunteer system in place previously, pension distribution used to take three days. “Now, we are completing the distribution within three hours,” he added.

MLA Daggupati Venkateswara Prasad alleged that the previous government distributed pensions arbitrarily to ineligible individuals. “We have put checks in place to prevent such irregularities and are distributing pensions properly,” he said. He also mentioned that 304 new pensions were distributed today. He emphasized that the ration and pension distribution process is being conducted with full transparency and that the public has expressed satisfaction with the current administration.

Pensions were distributed at Buddappa Nagar in Anantapur city through District Collector O. Anand. The Collector stated that pensions are being distributed to 2.79 lakh people in the district. He added that the distribution process is being carried out transparently, leaving no room for any irregularities, and assured that 99% of the pensions would be distributed by 6 p.m.
