Peddi Makers Withdraw Plea for Ticket Hike in Telangana HC, AP Permits ₹600 Special Shows
The Peddi makers have withdrawn their petition for ticket price hike before the Telangana High Court , after the court indicated that no immediate interim relief would be granted. The decision effectively ends the legal attempt to secure higher ticket rates in Telangana ahead of the film’s release, ensuring that standard ticket pricing remains unchanged in the state for now.
The move comes amid a broader contrast in release strategies across the two Telugu states, with Telangana maintaining a strict stance against ticket hikes. Industry sources also note that exhibitors in the state continue to oppose any premium pricing model, keeping the film’s release under regular pricing norms.
In sharp contrast, Andhra Pradesh has rolled out a full-fledged promotional and pricing package for the Ram Charan–Janhvi Kapoor starrer. The state government has issued formal permission for special premiere shows at 8 pm on June 3 , a day ahead of the worldwide release.
A key highlight of the approval is the ₹600 ticket pricing (inclusive of GST) for these premiere screenings. The order is part of a structured Government Order that has been widely discussed in trade circles for its detailed rollout plan.
Beyond premieres, Andhra Pradesh has also cleared an extended benefit for the film’s opening performance window. The government has permitted a temporary ticket price hike for ten days from release , allowing an increase of ₹100 in single screens and ₹125 in multiplexes . Reports also confirm that the state has sanctioned up to five shows per day , giving theatres additional screening flexibility during the crucial opening week.
According to industry tracking reports, theatre scheduling for these paid premiere shows is already being finalised , driven by strong pre-release demand and fan anticipation. The structured rollout is expected to significantly boost early box office momentum in Andhra Pradesh compared to Telangana.
Peddi , directed by Buchi Babu Sana and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, stars Ram Charan in a sports-based role and is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on June 4. The film is among the most anticipated Telugu releases of the year, with high expectations across domestic and overseas markets.
