Hundreds of members of the Muslim community took out a peaceful candlelight march in Vijayawada on Sunday night, voicing strong opposition to the reported killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei , in a military operation allegedly conducted by the United States and Israel .

Carrying candles, participants marched through key city areas, condemning the attack and appealing for an immediate ceasefire in West Asia . They called on global powers to end the violence and protect innocent civilians affected by the ongoing conflict.

The demonstration was organised under the leadership of Mustaq Ali , State President of the Mohammed Ali Muslim Welfare Association. Speaking at the event, he criticised the aggressive military stance attributed to U.S. President Donald Trump , questioning the moral grounds of warfare that claims civilian lives. He said conflicts should remain confined to armed forces and not devastate homes or endanger children and non-combatants.

Religious leaders Mirza Ali Imam and Altaf Raza addressed the gathering, stating that Khamenei had consistently supported oppressed nations. They described his death as a major loss to those fighting injustice and stressed that human values and the pursuit of peace cannot be silenced by military might.

Police made prior security arrangements to ensure the rally concluded peacefully without any untoward incidents.
