However, one notable absentee from the venue will be Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Mohsin Naqvi , who will attend the meeting virtually.

The ICC Board of Directors meeting is scheduled for May 31 , coinciding with the IPL title clash in Ahmedabad. While speculation had emerged regarding Naqvi’s possible visit to India for the event, sources familiar with the developments clarified that the PCB chief was never expected to attend in person.

Instead, Naqvi will join the discussions through video conference , a provision that already exists within ICC protocol for board members unable to travel. Sources indicated that he is not the only official choosing the virtual route, with at least two other members also expected to participate online.

The meeting carries added significance because it will take place alongside the IPL final , an event that traditionally draws the biggest names in world cricket administration. Senior officials from multiple cricket boards are likely to be present in Ahmedabad as discussions on key global cricket matters take place in parallel with the high-profile finale of the league.

The ICC meeting was initially planned in Doha last month but had to be postponed due to the ongoing geopolitical tensions and instability in parts of West Asia .
