Payal Shankar Leads BJP’s ‘Rythanna Porubata’ Rally in Adilabad

A large farmers’ mobilisation under the banner “Rythanna Porubata” was organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party in Adilabad, drawing thousands of farmers and party supporters. The programme focused on highlighting agrarian distress and pressing the state government to address key farmers’ demands across Telangana.

The rally was led by Adilabad MLA Payal Shankar, who also serves as BJP Legislature Party deputy leader . Meetings were held at Jainath mandal headquarters and later in Adilabad town, where farmers gathered in large numbers to raise concerns over pending welfare benefits , crop losses , and rising cultivation costs .

Addressing the gathering, Payal Shankar said farmers across Telangana were facing financial stress due to delays in government support and inadequate implementation of welfare measures. He demanded that the Government of Telangana immediately implement the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana , the Centre’s crop insurance scheme , to provide protection against natural calamities and crop damage .

He also urged the state government to fulfil its election promise of ₹2-lakh farm loan waiver for every eligible farmer and called for the immediate release of pending payments under Rythu Bharosa . According to BJP leaders, delays in financial assistance have increased the economic burden on farmers during the current agricultural season.

Payal Shankar assured farmers that their concerns would be strongly raised during the upcoming Telangana Assembly sessions and said the BJP would continue organising programmes across districts to highlight farmers’ rights and hold the government accountable.

Several senior leaders attended the rally, including Godem Nagesh, Aleti Maheshwar Reddy, Rama Rao Patel, Dhanpal Suryanarayana and Lakshma Reddy.

During the meeting, BJP leaders criticised the Indian National Congress government in Telangana, accusing it of failing to fulfil promises made to farmers and warning that continued neglect of agrarian issues would lead to strong political resistance .
