Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Panjaa’ Sees Strong Advance Sales Ahead of 4K Re-Release

Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Panjaa’ is building strong momentum ahead of its 4K theatrical re-release on September 2, with advance bookings showing an encouraging response in India and overseas.

The Vishnuvardhan-directed action thriller, which originally released in 2011, is returning to cinemas in a digitally remastered 4K version on the eve of Pawan Kalyan’s birthday. Despite a limited number of shows in the initial phase, the re-release has reportedly crossed ₹50 lakh gross in advance bookings, while overseas pre-sales have moved beyond $10,000.

The response has been particularly strong in select markets, with several shows in Karnataka selling out soon after bookings opened on platforms including BookMyShow and the District app. The advance trend has also drawn attention for reportedly surpassing the early performance of some recent Telugu film re-releases.

‘Panjaa’ was among the most anticipated films of Pawan Kalyan’s career when it first hit theatres in December 2011, but failed to meet expectations at the box office during its original run. Over the years, however, the film has developed a strong fan following and is now widely remembered for its stylish action, Pawan Kalyan’s screen presence and Yuvan Shankar Raja’s popular music and background score.

The film also features Sarah-Jane Dias, Anjali Lavania, Jackie Shroff and Adivi Sesh, with Sesh appearing early in his acting career before emerging as a prominent actor and filmmaker.

Adding to the nostalgia surrounding the re-release, a refreshed soundtrack release has further boosted excitement among fans eager to revisit the film’s music.

With upgraded 4K visuals and enhanced sound, ‘Panjaa’ now returns to the big screen as another major Pawan Kalyan re-release. The strong advance response has raised expectations over whether the film can find a renewed commercial success years after its original theatrical run.
