Pawan Kalyan Leads Statewide Green Revolution in Andhra Pradesh
Deputy Chief Minister and Forests & Environment Minister Pawan Kalyan has announced a massive green initiative to enhance forest cover and strengthen environmental sustainability across Andhra Pradesh. As part of the programme, the Forest Department will distribute 25 million seed balls to promote large-scale afforestation and ecological restoration .
The campaign is aimed at improving biodiversity , maintaining ecological balance, and creating a cleaner environment for future generations. Officials have been directed to implement the initiative on a mission mode, with extensive seed ball preparation activities scheduled across the state in June.
Taking advantage of the monsoon season, the government plans to disperse the seed balls widely during July and August to maximise germination. The initiative will not be limited to official departments alone, as the state intends to turn it into a broad public movement involving students, youth groups, women’s self-help groups, NGOs, government staff, environmental volunteers, and local communities.
To ensure wider coverage, the Forest Department will use multiple methods for seed dispersal, including manual planting, direct broadcasting, and drone technology . Drones will specifically be deployed in remote hill ranges and dense forest zones that are difficult to access on foot.
Pawan Kalyan said the initiative would contribute to climate resilience , expand green cover, and help build a healthier and more sustainable Andhra Pradesh. Urging citizens to participate actively, he described every seed ball as an investment in the future and called on people to support the state’s green mission .
