Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan once again showcased his generosity by announcing the adoption of two giraffes for a year at the Indira Gandhi Zoological Park in Visakhapatnam on Thursday. The Deputy CM confirmed that he would personally bear the entire maintenance costs for the giraffes during this period.

A Special Tribute on Mother’s Birthday

This heartfelt decision was reportedly taken to honor the birthday of his mother, Anjana Devi , reflecting his deep love for nature and wildlife . Pawan Kalyan also urged not just the government but corporate organizations to contribute CSR funds for the protection of wild animals.

During the visit, he inaugurated a newly constructed bear enclosure at the zoo. He also inspected the tiger, lion, black bear, and hippopotamus enclosures, inquiring about the health and diet of the animals. The Deputy CM spent some time personally feeding the elephants and giraffes , engaging closely with the wildlife.

Focus on Environmental Protection

Following the zoo visit, Pawan Kalyan toured the Kambalakonda Eco-Park , where he inaugurated the ‘City Forest’ and reviewed extensive plans with forest officials to plant large numbers of trees under an eco-tourism initiative . He emphasized that increasing greenery and protecting wildlife habitats are top priorities for the state government.
