Paul Walker’s ‘Fast & Furious’ Return? Brother Cody Weighs In on AI Possibility

Cody Walker, brother of late actor Paul Walker, has said he will not return as a body double for his brother if Brian O’Conner is brought back for the planned Fast & Furious finale, reportedly titled ‘Fast Forever’.

Cody and his brother Caleb previously helped complete scenes for Paul in ‘Furious 7’ following the actor’s death in a 2013 car crash. However, Cody now believes that experience should not be repeated, particularly because Brian received an emotional farewell in the seventh film.

Speaking about the possibility of Brian appearing in the franchise’s concluding chapter, Cody acknowledged that AI technology and previously unused footage from Paul’s earlier films could offer filmmakers another way to recreate the character.

However, he stressed that any decision involving Paul’s likeness should ultimately involve Paul’s daughter, Meadow Walker. Cody described the issue as part of his brother’s legacy and indicated that Meadow’s wishes should carry significant weight.

“I think it’s Meadow’s decision,” Cody’s comments suggest, emphasising that the matter is ultimately about respecting Paul and his family.

Paul’s Brian O’Conner was not killed off in Furious 7. Instead, the character stepped away from the action to focus on his family, allowing the franchise to reference him in subsequent films without showing him directly.

The potential return has sparked debate over whether a deceased actor should be digitally recreated. While some fans are interested in seeing Brian reunite with Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto, others believe Furious 7 provided the character with the perfect ending and that Brian’s story should remain untouched.

The filmmakers have not confirmed that AI will be used to bring Paul’s character back in the finale.
