Patna Court Grants Anticipatory Bail to Khan Sir in Coaching Institute Firing Case

In a significant legal relief for popular educator Faisal Khan , widely known as Khan Sir , a Patna court on Monday granted him anticipatory bail in connection with the coaching institute firing case that emerged after a violent incident at his institute earlier this year.

The court also extended anticipatory bail to three staff members associated with the coaching institute. In addition, two security guards , who had been arrested in the case, were granted bail by the Patna Civil Court, according to Khan Sir's counsel Arvind Kumar Mouar .

The case stems from an incident in early June when a group of alleged miscreants reportedly vandalised the coaching institute. During the commotion, the two security guards were accused of opening fire, leading to the registration of the case and subsequent legal proceedings involving Khan Sir and others connected to the institute.

Speaking to reporters after the hearing, advocate Mouar said that the court first pronounced anticipatory bail for Khan Sir and later granted similar relief to the three staff members. The two arrested security personnel were also granted regular bail.

The matter had seen several rounds of hearings over the past few days. On July 8, the court reserved its order after hearing final arguments from both sides. The decision was initially expected earlier, but on July 11 the court deferred pronouncement until July 13 due to the district judge being on leave.

With Monday's order, Khan Sir and the other accused have received temporary protection from arrest, while the investigation into the firing incident will continue in accordance with the law.
