Passport Seva Kendras in Hyderabad to Remain Shut on May 28
The Regional Passport Office (RPO), Hyderabad has announced that all passport-related services across the city will remain suspended on May 28 following the state government’s revised Bakrid holiday notification.
Officials said all Passport Seva Kendras (PSKs) and Post Office Passport Seva Kendras (POPSKs) functioning under the Hyderabad region will remain closed for the day. The temporary shutdown comes after the Bakrid public holiday was officially shifted from May 27 to May 28.
In view of the closure, authorities have rescheduled all appointments originally fixed for May 28 to May 27 . Applicants affected by the change have been advised to visit their respective centres on the revised date to complete passport-related formalities without delay.
Deputy Passport Officer Srinivasa Rao clarified that passport services on May 27 would function normally and no disruption in operations is expected. He urged applicants to carefully verify their updated appointment details before visiting the centres.
The Hyderabad RPO handles a significant number of applications every month, including services related to fresh passports, renewals, Tatkal applications, and Police Clearance Certificates through multiple service centres across the city.
Officials said advance intimation regarding the revised schedule was issued through official communication channels to minimise inconvenience to citizens during the festival period. Applicants seeking clarification regarding their appointments have been advised to check the Passport Seva Portal or contact the regional office helpdesk.
Authorities also noted that the temporary adjustment was purely administrative and aimed at ensuring smooth public service management during the revised holiday schedule linked to Eid-ul-Zuha celebrations .
