Parthiv Neotia Named ICC President, Munish Jhajharia Takes MCCI Helm

Munish Jhajharia has been elected president of the Merchants’ Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI), while Parthiv Neotia has taken over as president of the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), according to an official statement.

Neotia is the managing director of Ambuja Neotia Healthcare Venture Ltd, while Jhajharia is an entrepreneur with more than 20 years of experience in real estate development and architectural materials manufacturing in eastern India.

At the ICC, Keshav Bhajanka, executive director of Century Ply, was elected senior vice president, while Gyanesh Chaudhary, chairman and managing director of Vikram Solar Ltd, was named vice president.

Neotia said his endeavour would be to strengthen the chamber’s role as a bridge for business by fostering trade, growth and collaboration between Indian enterprises and global partners, while giving due importance to the Sustainable Development Goals.

He said India was at the intersection of rapid economic growth and a youth dividend, and spoke of contributing to sustainable prosperity and inclusive growth.

Neotia has previously been associated with ICC activities. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Babson College in the United States and an MBA from London Business School.

The new ICC president is part of the Kolkata-based Ambuja Neotia Group. His responsibilities include its healthcare interests, while he is also involved in the group’s hospitality business.

The ICC’s new office-bearers were announced after its annual general meeting in Kolkata. The leadership team comprises representatives from healthcare, building materials and renewable energy sectors.

The ICC’s 2026-27 office-bearers include Neotia as president, Bhajanka as senior vice president and Chaudhary as vice president.

The appointments give the two chambers new office-bearers for their terms, with Neotia outlining trade, business collaboration and Sustainable Development Goals as areas of focus for the ICC.

For MCCI, Jhajharia’s election places an entrepreneur with experience in real estate and architectural materials manufacturing at the head of the chamber. The MCCI appointment was also announced as part of the chamber’s leadership changes in Kolkata on Friday, September 25.
