Parking dispute turns deadly in East Delhi, 34-year-old shot dead in Preet Vihar

A late night parking dispute in east Delhi’s Preet Vihar area turned tragic when a 34-year-old man was allegedly shot dead after an argument escalated into violence in the early hours of Monday, police said.

The incident took place outside a residential house where two groups reportedly clashed over parking of vehicles. What began as a verbal altercation quickly intensified, leading to a fatal shooting .

According to a senior police officer, two PCR calls were received at Preet Vihar police station around 2.22 am and 2.26 am , reporting a quarrel followed by gunfire.

The confrontation involved Pankaj Nayyar (34) and his brother Paras Nayyar (43) on one side, and Gaurav Sharma on the other. During the heated exchange, Gaurav allegedly opened fire, striking Pankaj in the chest .

Pankaj was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Nirman Vihar, where doctors declared him brought dead .

Following the incident, the accused and his associates fled from the spot. Police said multiple teams have been formed to trace and arrest those involved.

The area was later secured, and the crime scene examined as part of the ongoing investigation. Officials are also probing how a routine parking argument escalated into a deadly act of violence .

The incident has once again highlighted how parking-related disputes in densely populated residential areas can spiral into serious and sometimes fatal confrontations.
