Palle Panduga 2.0 - Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan focuses on rural development

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Panchayati Raj, Rural Development, and Rural Water Supply, Pawan Kalyan, emphasized that providing clean drinking water and well-maintained roads without potholes is his top priority for village communities. He stated that modern technology will be used to ensure that detailed information about rural roads is easily accessible to the public.

The government is set to launch a new system called the “Jio Rural Road Management System,” which will allow villagers to check the status of roads, including ongoing construction and their condition. The pilot project “Adavi Thalli Baata” will also be integrated into this system.

During a review meeting in Mangalagiri, Pawan Kalyan discussed several initiatives, including Palle Panduga 2.0, the Adavi Thalli Baata project, the Jal Jeevan Mission, and the Swamitva Scheme. He expressed concern over the slow progress of projects despite adequate funding and directed officials to accelerate work. He stressed that even in tribal areas where road construction poses challenges, strong planning and supervision are essential. He also called for field-level inspections to closely monitor the progress of the Adavi Thalli Baata project.

Regarding drinking water supply, he said the Jal Jeevan Mission is progressing steadily in rural areas, with strict adherence to quality standards in ongoing projects across Chittoor, Prakasam, Palnadu, and Godavari districts. From the third week of November, he will personally review project progress.

Under the Swamitva Scheme, the government aims to provide property cards to one crore residents across the state by March next year. The first phase of the survey has been completed in 613 villages, while the second phase will distribute ownership documents to another 45.66 lakh people. The third phase of surveys is scheduled to begin in December. Village surveyors will now be assigned to the Panchayati Raj department to speed up the process, and property cards will be issued to rightful owners after re-surveys are completed.

The review meeting was attended by senior officials, including Panchayati Raj Principal Secretary Shashibhooshan Kumar, Commissioner Krishnateja, and Survey Department Secretary Kurmanath.
