Palash Mucchal sends legal notice to actor over cheating claims, seeks Rs 10 Cr in damages

Music composer and filmmaker Palash Mucchal has sent a legal notice to Marathi actor-producer Vidnyan Mane , demanding Rs 10 crore in damages for alleged defamation. The notice comes after Mane accused Mucchal of cheating him of Rs 40 lakh .

Palash Mucchal , known for his work as a music composer and filmmaker in Marathi cinema, has also been active on social media, sharing updates about his projects and public disputes. Vidnyan Mane is a Marathi actor and producer who has been associated with regional film projects and has recently been in the spotlight over investment-related allegations.

Earlier this week, Mane, 34, approached the police in Maharashtra’s Sangli district , claiming that Mucchal had misappropriated the money he invested in a film project. However, Mucchal’s lawyer Shreyansh Mithare has denied the allegations, saying no money was ever received by the composer-filmmaker.

“These allegations are baseless and have been made with the sole intention of defaming Mucchal,” Mithare said. “We have served a legal notice to Mane, seeking Rs 10 crore as compensation for the damage caused to his reputation.”

Mucchal also took to social media to announce the legal step, describing the accusations as “false, outrageous and highly defamatory” , and said they were made with deliberate intent to malign his character.

In his complaint filed with the Sangli Superintendent of Police, Mane sought an FIR against Mucchal. According to the application, the two met in Sangli on December 5, 2023 , when Mane expressed interest in investing in film production.

Mane claimed that Mucchal offered to invest in his upcoming project titled ‘Nazaria’ , promising a profit of Rs 12 lakh on an investment of Rs 25 lakh after the film’s release on OTT platforms. He also alleged that Mucchal offered him a role in the film.

The actor-producer claimed that the two met twice after the initial meeting, and that he gave Mucchal a total of Rs 40 lakh by March 2025. However, the project did not progress, and Mane said he received no response when he asked for his money back.

With the film yet to be completed, Mane approached the Sangli police seeking legal action.
