Pakistani Mother, Son Arrested in Karnataka Over Alleged Fraudulent Ration Card, Voter ID

Two Pakistani nationals have been arrested in Karnataka's Chikkaballapura district for allegedly obtaining a ration card and voter identity card by suppressing facts related to their nationality, police said on Sunday.

The accused, identified as Farah Naz and her son Mohammed Fardeen , have been booked under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) , the Foreigners Act , and the Representation of the People Act . Police said the investigation is ongoing.

According to Chikkaballapura Superintendent of Police Kushal Chouksey , the action followed credible information that the duo had secured Indian identity documents despite being Pakistani nationals.

A police inquiry found that Mohammed Ayub Khan , a native of Bagepalli who was employed in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) , married Farah Naz , a Pakistani national, in the UAE. The couple has four children, of whom Mohammed Fardeen was born in Pakistan .

Police said Farah Naz and Mohammed Fardeen are Pakistani nationals , while Ayub Khan and the couple's other three children are Indian nationals . The family is currently residing in Bagepalli .

Following a police inquiry, the Deputy Commissioner verified the records and cancelled the ration card , stating that it had allegedly been obtained by suppressing material facts regarding nationality. The voter identity card was also cancelled by the competent authority.

The criminal case was registered on the basis of a complaint filed by the Bagepalli Tahsildar . Police said both accused have been arrested, and further investigation is underway .
