The Andhra Pradesh government will provide free Civil Services coaching to 100 unemployed youth from Backward Classes (BCs) every year under the P4 initiative, BC Welfare Minister S. Savitha announced. The BC Welfare Department has signed an agreement with the Dr Lakshmaiah IAS Academy to provide coaching, study materials and free accommodation to selected candidates.

The agreement was exchanged between representatives of the department and the academy in the presence of the minister at the State Secretariat. Savitha said the initiative was aimed at helping BC youth access opportunities in prestigious government services through structured training and academic support.

The minister said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu wanted BC youth to secure prominent positions across different sectors. The BC Study Circles were already providing free coaching for Civil Services, DSC, Group-1, police recruitment and other competitive examinations, she added. She welcomed the academy's participation in the P4 programme and said experienced faculty members would train candidates in various subjects and provide the required study materials.

Recalling earlier initiatives, Savitha said free coaching for unemployed youth had been introduced through BC Study Circles during 2014–19. She alleged that the previous government discontinued free Civil Services coaching, which was subsequently restored after the coalition government came to power. Over the past two years, 200 candidates received free Civil Services coaching, while training was also provided for the 2025 Mega DSC and Group-1 examinations.

The minister said the next Civil Services coaching programme would begin shortly, with 100 candidates securing the highest marks in the relevant qualifying examinations selected for training. Free DSC coaching would also commence once the recruitment notification was issued. BC Study Circles would continue offering online and offline coaching for examinations, including Sub-Inspector and police constable recruitment.

Meanwhile, P4 Foundation Vice-Chairman Kumara Rao announced ₹2 lakh in personal financial assistance for each BC candidate who receives free coaching under the initiative and qualifies for the Civil Services Mains examination. He said the programme aimed to support BC youth in achieving progress across various fields.

Dr Lakshmaiah IAS Academy chief mentor Lakshmaiah assured individual attention and focused guidance for every student. Bhagavatula Ravikumar, president of the PARD voluntary organisation, welcomed the initiative, while AP Gazetted Officers Joint Action Committee chairman K.V. Krishnaiah said the association would also support several students through the P4 programme. BC Welfare Department Secretary S. Satyanarayana and other officials attended the event.
