Owaisi thanks Bihar voters, urges opposition parties to reflect on failures

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Friday expressed heartfelt gratitude to voters in Bihar who helped his party secure victories in five assembly constituencies. Speaking about the recently concluded Bihar elections, Owaisi emphasized that parties opposing the NDA need to seriously review their shortcomings.

Addressing the media, he said, “I thank the people of Bihar. From the start, I have said that the RJD could not stop the BJP, and I have consistently conveyed this in my speeches. I appeal to the people there to move beyond the misconception surrounding the ‘M-Y’ (Muslim-Yadav) alliance.”

Owaisi also urged some voters to shift from being mere “vote-givers” to “vote-takers,” stressing that doing so would help develop leadership within their communities and counter politics based on caste or religious divisions.

He further criticized the RJD and other regional parties for failing to check the BJP’s rise, advising them to assess their own performance instead of blaming others. “Some people may be happy to criticize us, but criticism alone doesn’t solve problems,” he noted.

Referring to comments made by Uttar Pradesh Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav, Owaisi said it is not productive to blame others for the Maha Gathbandhan’s defeat. Instead, regional parties must acknowledge their weaknesses. “The era when leaders could assume people would automatically vote for them is over. Humility is key - remember, it’s the voters who are the real kings,” he concluded.
