Owaisi Raises Questions Over PLA Interference in Arunachal
AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has questioned the Centre over alleged Chinese activity along the India-China border in Arunachal Pradesh, seeking answers on whether the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has recently interfered with Indian military patrols in the region.
Owaisi raised the issue on X, asking whether Chinese troops had stopped Indian soldiers from accessing areas that were previously patrolled by the Indian Army. He also sought clarity on reports suggesting that Chinese forces may have attempted to strengthen their presence in the sensitive border region.
The Hyderabad MP further asked whether PLA personnel had removed or destroyed a temporary structure put up by Indian troops on Indian territory. He questioned why the Centre had not provided clear answers on these developments and accused the government of remaining silent on the situation along the frontier.
There has been no official response so far from the Central government or security agencies to Owaisi’s latest questions.
The India-China boundary continues to be a sensitive security issue, with the Line of Actual Control (LAC) witnessing heightened military preparedness on both sides. Arunachal Pradesh remains particularly significant because China continues to stake claims over parts of the state, while India has consistently maintained that it is an integral part of the country.
The border situation has remained closely watched since the 2020 military standoff in eastern Ladakh, which triggered prolonged military and diplomatic negotiations between the two countries. While disengagement has taken place at several friction points, the broader boundary dispute remains unresolved.
Against this backdrop, questions surrounding patrolling patterns, temporary military structures and Chinese troop activity in Arunachal Pradesh assume considerable significance. Any confirmed attempt to restrict Indian patrols or alter the ground situation could have wider security implications.
India has also been strengthening border roads, connectivity and military infrastructure in strategically important frontier areas. Owaisi’s remarks have therefore renewed political scrutiny over developments along the China border and the Centre’s communication on sensitive national security matters.
