‘Our School, Our Responsibility’: Guntur collector launches innovative program

To improve school education standards, the Guntur district administration has launched a unique initiative aimed at enhancing student engagement and performance. The program, called “Our School, Our Responsibility,” focuses on motivating 9th and 10th-grade students, raising awareness about higher education, and creating opportunities for future careers, with the ultimate goal of achieving a 100% pass rate in the 10th-grade board exams.

Under this initiative, district officials have been assigned as special mentors to 185 high schools across Guntur. Their role is to monitor school activities, identify students struggling in specific subjects, and provide guidance to help them improve. The program also emphasizes reducing student stress, increasing concentration, and building confidence, while encouraging students to pursue higher education and become experts in their areas of interest.

As part of the program, students will receive counseling and mentorship from the assigned officials. They will also be inspired by the life stories of achievers from various fields, helping them set goals and develop a positive mindset.

District Collector A. Tamim Ansari highlighted that many students miss opportunities due to a lack of proper guidance. He said the program aims to provide students with clear direction, advice, and information about higher education and career prospects, laying a strong foundation for their future. Officials will also share personal experiences to help students learn from real-life examples.

Ansari expressed confidence that this initiative will boost students’ self-confidence, mental resilience, and overall performance, creating a stronger and more motivated generation of learners.
