OTT Releases This Week: ‘Koffee With Karan 9’, ‘Kappi Squad’ and More to Watch

Streaming platforms are lining up a mix of celebrity conversations, fresh dramas, international entertainment and returning favourites for the week of October 12 to 18, giving viewers plenty of options to explore from the comfort of their homes. Among the week's major attractions is the much-anticipated return of ‘Koffee With Karan’ Season 9, which marks the final chapter of filmmaker Karan Johar’s long-running celebrity chat show.

The latest releases span different languages and genres, with JioHotstar bringing new entertainment to its catalogue and other streaming platforms offering fresh choices for viewers looking beyond mainstream Hindi cinema.

One of the biggest talking points is ‘Koffee With Karan 9’, which begins streaming on October 14 on JioHotstar. The new season carries added significance after Johar confirmed that the show would end with its ninth instalment. Known for its candid celebrity conversations, playful rapid-fire rounds and headline-making revelations, the show has remained a fixture of Indian pop culture since its debut in 2004. Its final season is expected to draw considerable attention from Bollywood fans eager to see which stars join Johar on the famous couch.

Malayalam viewers also have a new title to look forward to in ‘Kappi Squad’, scheduled to arrive on JioHotstar on October 15. The comedy-drama follows four young adults grappling with personal insecurities, wounded pride and the desire for acceptance as they attempt to build a café business. Their entrepreneurial venture becomes a test of friendship, ambition and self-worth, giving the series a contemporary, youth-oriented premise.

The week also brings fresh international entertainment to JioHotstar, including new seasons of established television favourites. Viewers can explore crime drama, reality television and comedy alongside Indian originals, making the platform's offering more varied than a conventional movie-only watchlist.

For audiences who enjoy switching between languages and formats, the week's selection provides an opportunity to discover stories beyond familiar Bollywood releases. From the celebrity-driven appeal of Johar's farewell season to the personal struggles and ambitions explored in ‘Kappi Squad’, the upcoming slate caters to different viewing moods.

With streaming services continuing to release content throughout the week, viewers should check the relevant platform for regional availability, language options and the latest release timings before settling on their next watch.
