Osmania University B.Tech student dies by suspected suicide
A second-year B.Tech student at Osmania University was found dead under suspicious circumstances on Monday night, police said. The student was discovered near a tree close to his hostel on the university campus, apparently having attempted self-harm. He was immediately taken to a hospital but died during treatment.
According to the initial police investigation, the student had sent himself a message on a messaging app regarding an incident that had occurred in his native village. Police said the message indicated that his parents had harshly reprimanded him over the incident, reportedly telling him that if he did not change his behavior, it would be better for him not to remain in the village - even suggesting that taking his own life might be preferable.
The student reportedly mentioned in the message that he felt neglected by his family and could not cope with the situation. Authorities believe that family pressure and personal stress may have contributed to his death.
A case has been registered, and a detailed investigation is underway. The tragic incident has left the university campus in shock and mourning.
