
Online Applications Open for KVS, NVS 2025 Recruitment Drive: Last Date December 4
A major nationwide recruitment drive for 14,967 teaching and non-teaching posts has been announced by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) and the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS), with the official notification released on November 13, 2025. Online applications have been opened from November 14 and will remain available until December 4, 2025, through the official websites of CBSE, KVS and NVS. The recruitment is being conducted centrally, and candidates have been advised to apply only through authorised portals, as applications submitted through any other mode will not be accepted.
According to the notification, KVS has announced 9,126 vacancies, while NVS has notified 5,841 posts. The vacancies include senior administrative roles such as Assistant Commissioner, Principal and Vice Principal, along with a large number of teaching positions including Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs), Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs), Librarians and Primary Teachers. Several non-teaching posts also form part of the recruitment. The wide vacancy distribution is expected to strengthen staffing across schools functioning under both KVS and NVS nationwide.
Eligibility criteria vary by post. For senior positions like Assistant Commissioner, Principal and Vice Principal, a Master’s degree with at least 50 per cent marks and a B.Ed or an integrated B.Ed–M.Ed from an NCTE-recognised institution has been mandated. For PGTs, either an integrated postgraduate programme including B.Ed or a Master’s degree in the concerned subject with at least 50 per cent marks and B.Ed has been prescribed. For PRT (Music), Class XII with 50 per cent marks and a degree in Music or Performing Arts has been specified. The minimum age required to apply is 18 years, while the maximum age limit varies up to 50 years depending on the post. Age relaxation will be applicable as per government rules.
The application fee has been differentiated by category and post level. For Assistant Commissioner, Principal and Vice Principal, the fee has been fixed at ₹2,800 for General, OBC and EWS candidates, while SC, ST, PH and Ex-servicemen candidates will pay ₹500. For teaching and mid-level posts such as PGT, TGT, PRT, Finance Officer, AE, AO, Librarian, ASO and Junior Translator, the fee is ₹2,000 for General, OBC and EWS candidates and ₹500 for reserved categories. For clerical and support-level posts including SSA, Stenographer, JSA, Lab Attendant and Multi-Tasking Staff, the fee is ₹1,700 for General, OBC and EWS candidates and ₹500 for SC, ST, PH and ESM.
The selection process will consist of a two-tier examination followed by an interview for shortlisted candidates. The final merit list will be prepared with 85 per cent weightage given to Tier-2 marks and 15 per cent to interview performance, with the interview carrying 100 marks. Candidates reaching the final stage will also be required to present a medical certificate from an authorised medical authority confirming their functional fitness for the post. The recruitment process is being conducted with CBSE’s involvement to ensure uniformity, transparency and adherence to prescribed standards across both school systems.
