ONGC Sets Stage for Next Phase of Energy Growth in Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu met a high-level ONGC delegation led by Chairman Arun Kumar Singh at the State Secretariat to discuss ongoing oil and natural gas projects and future investment opportunities in the state.

The discussions focused on ONGC’s exploration and production activities in the Krishna-Godavari Basin , with the company outlining the progress of its crude oil and natural gas operations. The Chief Minister reviewed the projects' contribution to state revenues and local employment while emphasizing the importance of the energy sector in Andhra Pradesh’s economic growth plans.

Naidu assured ONGC of the state government’s support for upcoming projects and called for stronger coordination to ensure timely execution. He proposed a dedicated clearance mechanism or joint coordination committee to expedite approvals and resolve project-related issues efficiently.

The Chief Minister also urged the company to increase its focus on the welfare of communities in project-affected coastal and rural areas. He encouraged ONGC to utilize its CSR funds for infrastructure development , drinking water facilities, education, and skill development initiatives.

ONGC Chairman Arun Kumar Singh welcomed the suggestions and highlighted the company’s ongoing social initiatives in Andhra Pradesh. He said ONGC is funding advanced cancer treatment equipment for government hospitals in Kakinada and Guntur through its CSR program and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting local development alongside its energy operations.
