OnePlus 15 Arrives as India’s First Smartphone With Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5

The OnePlus 15, the company’s latest flagship smartphone, has been launched in India, becoming the first device in the country to feature Qualcomm’s newly introduced Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. The handset, which succeeds the OnePlus 13 released last year, was initially introduced in China on October 27, 2025, before being brought to the Indian market. The model arrives with several performance, camera and battery upgrades over its predecessor, reinforcing the brand’s focus on premium hardware.

In India, the OnePlus 15 has been introduced in two memory configurations: a 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant priced at ₹72,999, and a 16GB RAM + 256GB storage variant priced at ₹79,999. As part of the launch offers, customers using HDFC Bank cards are being provided a discount of ₹4,000 on both versions, bringing the effective prices to ₹68,999 and ₹75,999 respectively. The smartphone is scheduled to go on sale today, November 13, at 8 pm through the company’s official online store.

The device features a 6.78-inch third-generation BOE Flexible AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate, 1.5K resolution (1,272×2,772 pixels), peak brightness of 1,800 nits, and a touch sampling rate of up to 330Hz. It also supports the full DCI-P3 color gamut and offers 1.07 billion colors. The phone is equipped with a 7,300mAh Silicon Carbon battery that supports 120W wired Super Flash Charge and 50W wireless Flash Charge, offering a significant boost in power capacity compared to earlier models.

Performance on the OnePlus 15 is driven by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, supported by a G2 Wi-Fi chip developed in-house by OnePlus and a dedicated touch-response chip. The company has stated that the G2 Wi-Fi module is designed to maintain high upload and download speeds even under weak wireless signals. The device runs on the latest OxygenOS 16 and incorporates several AI-powered features aimed at improving responsiveness and user experience.

In terms of imaging, the smartphone carries a triple-camera system housed in a redesigned square module, replacing the circular setup used previously. The rear camera unit includes a 50MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, a 50MP f/2.0 ultrawide lens, and a 50MP f/1.8 telephoto camera capable of 3.5x optical zoom. The rear system supports 8K video recording at 30fps. A 32MP f/2.4 front camera has been provided for selfies and video calls. This generation does not include the Hasselblad tuning seen in earlier models but features the company's DetailMax image engine.

The phone also includes an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and offers a wide range of connectivity options such as 5G, Wi-Fi 7, NFC, Beidou, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and QZSS. Additional onboard sensors include a proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, color temperature sensor, electronic compass, accelerometer, gyroscope, Hall sensor, laser focus unit, spectrum sensor, and an IR blaster. The handset weighs 211 grams and measures 161.42×76.67×8.10mm.
