One year after Pushpa 2 stampede, Sritej receives continued help from Allu Arjun
It has been a year since the tragic Pushpa 2 premiere at Hyderabad’s Sandhya Theatre on December 4, 2024, which left a young fan critically injured and claimed the life of his mother. Sritej, a devoted fan of Allu Arjun, had come with his family to watch the first-day release of the film. The sudden appearance of Allu Arjun at the theatre led to chaos, causing a stampede. In the tragic incident, Sritej’s mother, Revathi, lost her life while protecting him, and Sritej was declared brain dead due to severe injuries.
Following the incident, an FIR was filed against Allu Arjun, and he was briefly taken into custody, sparking widespread media attention. A press conference was later held to clarify the situation, during which Allu Arjun’s team expressed their commitment to supporting Sritej and his family.
A year later, Sritej remains in a critical condition. Reports indicate that he is only able to move his eyes, with the rest of his body still undergoing treatment and unable to move independently. His father, Bhaskar, continues to manage the immense care responsibilities and expenses, which include private hospital bills of ₹1.5 lakhs per month.
Allu Arjun’s team has reportedly spent a total of ₹3 Crores 20 Lakhs and 40 Thousand on Sritej’s medical care, which includes a fixed deposit of ₹1.5 Crores generating ₹17 Lakhs in interest. The team also recently cleared all outstanding hospital bills totaling ₹76 Lakhs. Bunny Vasu, speaking at a press meet, reiterated that Bhaskar is welcome to discuss any additional expenses, with the team ready to support all ongoing medical needs.
In a clarification video released by producer Dil Raju, Bhaskar appeared alongside him, acknowledging the support provided by Allu Arjun’s team and expressing gratitude, while also emphasizing their shared commitment to Sritej’s recovery. However, reports note that despite the financial support, Allu Arjun has not personally visited Sritej during his treatment.
