
One Palestinian Killed, Four Injured In Israeli Raid In Nablus Amid Rising West Bank Violence
One Palestinian man was killed and four others injured during an Israeli military raid in Nablus , with several reports highlighting additional injuries and escalating tensions across the occupied West Bank.
The Palestinian Red Crescent confirmed that five people were hit by live ammunition during the operation, including a 12-year-old boy shot in the shoulder . Medical sources also reported that some of the injured suffered chest, head and serious gunshot wounds, while around 40 others experienced tear gas inhalation , with several requiring hospital treatment.
The victim was identified by the Palestinian Health Ministry as 26-year-old Nayef Firas Ziad Samaro. He was taken to hospital in critical condition and later pronounced dead. His body was brought to Rafidia Hospital, where his wife was in labour and informed of his death, according to officials.
Witnesses said the raid took place in densely populated neighbourhoods as schools were being dismissed , increasing civilian exposure. Reports also indicated that Israeli forces conducted searches in residential and commercial areas during the operation.
The Israeli military said its troops responded after Palestinians allegedly threw stones during a confrontation, describing them as “terrorists” . It said forces returned fire and confirmed “several hits.”
Additional reporting noted Israeli activity in multiple parts of Nablus, including raids on shops and refugee camp areas, alongside the use of drones and tear gas.
According to the UN humanitarian office , at least 42 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank since the start of 2026, with at least 11 deaths linked to armed settlers, amid a broader escalation of violence and displacement.
