One Killed, 15 Injured in Srisailam Ghat Road Accident
A fatal road accident on the Srisailam Ghat Road on Monday morning left one person dead and 15 others injured after a passenger-laden Toofan vehicle collided with a Bullet motorcycle near the Domalpenta viewpoint. The accident occurred under the jurisdiction of the Eegalapenta police station, with police and emergency personnel rushing to the spot soon after the incident.
According to the police, the collision took place between 9 am and 10 am near the Domalpenta viewpoint. The Toofan vehicle was carrying several passengers when it was involved in the crash with the Bullet motorcycle. The impact resulted in injuries to 15 people travelling in the Toofan, officials said.
After receiving information about the accident, personnel from the Eegalapenta police station immediately reached the location and began shifting the injured to safety. The victims were transported in ambulances to Achampet Government Hospital, where they were provided medical treatment.
Despite efforts to save the injured, one person died while undergoing treatment at the hospital. Police subsequently shifted the body for a post-mortem examination as part of the formal procedures.
The accident caused concern among motorists and travellers using the Srisailam Ghat Road, a route that witnesses regular movement of vehicles carrying visitors and passengers. Police are currently examining the circumstances surrounding the collision to determine what led to the accident.
Officials said the exact cause of the crash has not yet been established. Investigators are gathering information from those involved and examining the circumstances at the accident site as part of the probe.
Police have not ruled out the possibility of further details emerging as the investigation progresses. They said information regarding the identities and condition of the injured persons, as well as the circumstances that led to the collision, will be clarified after the preliminary investigation is completed.
The deceased person's body has been kept for the post-mortem examination, while the injured continue to receive medical attention at Achampet Government Hospital.
