An Indian national was killed and three others injured in attacks on King Fahd International Airport in Dammam and the Shaybah oilfield in Saudi Arabia, raising fresh concerns over the safety of Indian workers as strikes threaten key Gulf infrastructure.

The Indian Embassy in Riyadh confirmed on Thursday that an Indian resident was among two people killed in Wednesday night’s attack on Dammam airport. Two other Indians were injured. Saudi aviation authorities said the dead were one Saudi citizen and one Indian resident, while eight people were hurt, including Bangladeshi and Nepalese nationals.

Airport operations have resumed, though authorities have not said whether a missile or drone was used, nor identified those responsible. The airport was also targeted on October 11.

Separately, an Indian was injured in a drone-related incident at Saudi Aramco’s Shaybah oilfield. Air defences intercepted the drone, but falling shrapnel killed a Filipino and a Nepali national and injured two others, including a Pakistani. Operations were not affected.

Earlier this month, an Indian national was killed in an attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.

India has condemned the attacks and called for an immediate end to hostilities. The Embassy urged nationals to take shelter indoors during aerial attacks and avoid filming or sharing footage of interceptions, citing legal consequences under Saudi law.

Saudi Arabia is home to about 2.74 million Indians, making their safety a major concern for New Delhi.
