Omani schools in Al Batinah advance sustainable learning with diverse activities

Schools across Oman’s North and South Al Batinah governorates organised a series of educational initiatives on October 27–28, 2025, aimed at promoting sustainable learning and lifelong education. The programmes included lectures on child rights, artificial intelligence workshops, hygiene awareness sessions, time management broadcasts, routine vaccination campaigns, environmental projects, and parent lectures on positive parenting.

These activities were shared widely on the social media platform X under the hashtag #تعلم_مستدام (sustainable learning) highlighting the Ministry of Education’s continued efforts to promote sustainability and resilience within the national curriculum. The initiatives form part of the Ministry’s broader vision to align education with Oman Vision 2040, which emphasises knowledge-based development and the preparation of future-ready citizens.

Participating institutions included Al Safa Basic Education School, Nibras Al Khair Basic Education School, and several others across both governorates. The activities aimed to enhance critical thinking, health awareness, and professional development among students and educators.

Officials noted that maintaining such programmes is essential to support Oman’s long-term educational goals. Continuous implementation of sustainable learning initiatives helps strengthen the connection between schools and communities, ensuring that education keeps pace with technological, environmental, and social change.

The Ministry of Education has encouraged schools to use digital platforms and unified hashtags to document and share their achievements, creating a collaborative network of learners and educators across the Sultanate. This approach also reflects Oman’s commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education), promoting inclusive and equitable learning opportunities.

By sustaining these activities in the coming years, Omani schools aim to reinforce lifelong learning, foster responsible citizenship, and equip students with the skills required to contribute effectively to national progress under Oman Vision 2040.
