Six people were injured when a nine-seater IndiaOne Air aircraft made an emergency crash landing near Rourkela, Odisha , on Saturday afternoon. The small aircraft had departed from Bhubaneswar and declared a Mayday before making a forced landing in an open area near Kansor, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said.

Among the injured were two pilots and four passengers . Two passengers, a couple, were airlifted to Mumbai for further treatment on Sunday at their own request and expense, after being cleared by doctors at a private hospital in Rourkela. Another passenger remains under ventilator support , but officials said their condition is stable and closely monitored.

Speaking at the accident site, Odisha’s Commerce and Transport Department Principal Secretary, Usha Padhee , said, “A medical team is continuously monitoring the health of the injured. If required, the state government will provide air ambulance support.” She added that the passenger under ventilator support had previously received treatment at the same hospital and is expected to recover.

The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has launched a probe into the incident. A three-member team has conducted an aerial survey of the crash site and will later inspect the landing area on the ground. The investigation is being carried out following DGCA guidelines and standard operating procedures.

According to officials, all six injured persons are safe and stable , and there have been no casualties in the incident.
