NTPC’s Vigilance Executive Conference 2025 highlights AI-driven strategies

The Vigilance Executive Conference of NTPC Ltd. was successfully held from 18th to 19th December 2025 , bringing together senior vigilance leaders, industry experts, and executives to strengthen ethical governance and proactive vigilance practices within India’s largest integrated power utility.

The conference was formally inaugurated by Smt. Rashmita Jha, Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of NTPC , alongside Shri B.B. Narare, Executive Director (Vigilance), NTPC . Gracing the occasion as the Guest of Honour was Dr. V. Kamakoti , Director of IIT Chennai , who was joined by Dr. Shankar Raman , CEO of IIT-M Pravartak Technologies Foundation . Their presence underscored the event’s focus on cutting‑edge vigilance strategies and emerging technologies shaping organizational integrity.

In his keynote at the inauguration, Dr. V. Kamakoti engaged attendees with thought‑provoking insights into the importance and challenges of artificial intelligence adoption and data protection in organizational growth. Through cleverly designed case studies, he illustrated how AI can enhance vigilance mechanisms while also underscoring the need for robust data governance to protect institutional integrity in a rapidly digitizing environment.

Complementing this, the conference featured an impactful expert session on “AI‑Driven Vigilance” by Dr. Madhusudhanan Baskaran , guest faculty from IIT Chennai , who highlighted how AI tools and analytics can transform vigilance functions—from risk detection to predictive integrity assurance.

Aligned with NTPC’s broader vigilance ecosystem and recent initiatives, the conference also provided a platform for vigilance executives to present innovative approaches toward preventive vigilance. These presentations showcased best practices in tackling systemic risks and fostering transparency across operations. A notable highlight was the discussion on flagship initiatives such as the VAW Volunteers program , launched during Vigilance Awareness Week (VAW 2025) ,a nationwide campaign emphasizing “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility” that included awareness drives, workshops and pledge‑taking ceremonies across NTPC establishments.
