Noida Techie Death: Police Reconstruct Final Days Through CCTV, Phone and Witness Accounts

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of 29-year-old software engineer Sambhav Jain, who allegedly died by suicide after falling from a high-rise in Noida’s Sector 94 on Saturday.

Jain, a resident of Gurugram, had arrived alone at Supernova Spira and booked accommodation for one day, according to police. He had reportedly left his Manesar home about three days before the incident and stayed at different hotels before reaching Noida.

Police said Jain checked into the Supernova accommodation on Friday afternoon. His identity was established from documents found in the room. Investigators are examining his movements and communications before the incident.

A key part of the inquiry is Jain’s phone data and communication with his father. Police said chats indicated a monetary dispute and that his father had urged him to return home. Jain had reportedly told his father that he would repay his debts.

Investigators are also examining a video recorded on his phone before his death. According to police, he spoke about his financial difficulties in the recording.

Shortly before the incident, an AC repair team at a nearby flat noticed Jain in distress. Four people attempted to persuade him to move to safety, with one person apparently trying to hold him back. Police are examining statements from those present and videos recorded at the scene.

The police and a Forensic Science Laboratory team inspected the site and collected evidence. Investigators are examining CCTV footage from the building and surrounding areas, witness accounts, phone communications and other available evidence to reconstruct Jain’s movements.

Preliminary inquiry has indicated mounting debt, marital discord, his son’s health condition and family-related pressures as possible factors. Police have not established any single factor as the confirmed cause of his death.

The body was sent for post-mortem examination. Further legal proceedings are underway as investigators continue to establish the sequence of events surrounding the death.
