Nodal officer appointed to aid telugus trapped in Nepal

In view of the ongoing unrest and political crisis in Nepal, the Andhra Pradesh government has established an Emergency Cell at AP Bhavan in New Delhi to ensure the safety and provide immediate support to Telugus stranded in the country. The government is working in close coordination with the Embassy of India in Kathmandu and the Ministry of External Affairs.

The Emergency Cell will function around the clock to provide assistance. Suresh has been designated as the Emergency Nodal Officer at AP Bhavan and can be contacted for urgent help at +91 9818395787. The cell will act as a central point of coordination for all rescue and relief efforts.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu and other AP Bhavan officials to extend all possible support to those affected. Rammohan Naidu is in constant contact with the Ministry of External Affairs to monitor the situation.

AP Bhavan officials have already taken action to assist specific groups. Arja Srikanth, the Commissioner of AP Bhavan, spoke to Naveen Srivastava, the Indian Ambassador to Nepal, who assured full support for Telugu citizens.

A group of 30, including former Central Information Commissioner Madabhushi Sridhar Acharyulu, was reportedly stranded in a bus in Kathmandu. AP Bhavan officials are in constant touch with the group and have made arrangements to shift them to a nearby hotel for their safety.

In a separate incident, a few Telugu families staying at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Kathmandu are being shifted to a nearby guest house. This precautionary measure was taken after the hotel management reported that agitators had gathered outside and there was a likelihood of renewed attacks and arson during the night.

The government has reassured the families of those stranded that every effort is being made to ensure the safety of all Telugus in Nepal.
