Guntur West MLA Galla Madhavi has warned of strict action against anyone involved in irregularities within women's self-help groups, asserting that there is no room for corruption in the DWCRA system and that the interests of women beneficiaries must be fully protected.

Chairing a review meeting at her camp office on Friday with officials from MEPMA , representatives of various banks, and resource persons, the legislator assessed the functioning of self-help groups, loan disbursement, repayment patterns, and the implementation of government welfare programmes for women.

Madhavi said the DWCRA movement, launched under the vision of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to promote women's economic empowerment, has transformed the lives of lakhs of women over the years. She stressed that the credibility and effectiveness of the system must be preserved through transparent administration and accountable governance.

Expressing concern over recent complaints from some self-help group members, the MLA said allegations had surfaced regarding irregularities in loan processing and repayment-related matters. She noted that some individuals were reportedly demanding commissions in the name of facilitating loans and exploiting women through unauthorized intermediary practices.

Making it clear that such activities would not be tolerated, Madhavi directed officials to ensure that the loan sanction process remains completely transparent and free from external interference. Every rupee intended for women’s welfare and economic advancement, she said, must reach the beneficiaries without leakages or misuse.

The MLA also instructed officials to closely monitor the functioning of self-help groups and take immediate action wherever violations are detected. She reiterated her commitment to building a corruption-free MEPMA system in Guntur West and safeguarding the rights of women associated with DWCRA groups.

Appealing directly to beneficiaries, Madhavi urged women facing issues related to self-help groups, loans, or welfare schemes to approach her without hesitation. She warned that those found cheating or exploiting women under the guise of facilitating services would face stringent action.
