No More RTO Queues: Vehicle Registration Now at Your Showroom
Telangana’s Transport Department has introduced a revolutionary change under the leadership of Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar. Vehicle buyers will no longer need to visit RTO offices for registration. Starting Saturday, the state-wide ‘Dealer Point Registration’ system has been officially implemented, the minister announced.
What’s New?
Under this new system, vehicle owners can now complete registration at the same showroom where the vehicle is purchased. Buyers can have their photos taken, upload the required documents online, and receive the registration number immediately. Once the registration process is completed, the Registration Certificate (RC) will be delivered directly to the owner’s home by post.
Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said a trial run of the system was successfully conducted last Friday in Madhapur, Hyderabad. Based on the success of the trial, the Dealer Point Registration initiative has been rolled out across the state from Saturday.
The Telangana government aims to fully digitize the transport department and provide all services online. Through the Saarthi Portal , citizens can now access services such as licenses, permits, and registrations more easily.
Additionally, the government has introduced key policies such as the Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy and the Vehicle Scrap Policy , the minister noted. These reforms are designed to provide faster, transparent, and corruption-free services to the public.
Officials believe that this new system will save both time and cost for vehicle owners while reducing the burden on RTO offices. Minister Ponnam Prabhakar urged citizens to cooperate with these reforms and take full advantage of online services. With the launch of this initiative, the long queues around RTO offices for vehicle registration are set to become a thing of the past.
